I can't believe I didn't know about this book when I was younger. If I ever have kids, the first thing I'm going to do is make sure they have a decent library: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Narnia Chronicles, anything by E.B. White, etc. Mr. Popper's Penguins was actually written by a man and his widow...since he died while writing it and she finished it up. It's a cute tale about a man's thirst for adventure, his admiration of penguins in the Antarctic, and the troubles that ensue when an Adelie penguin shows up at his front door.
